to note that if an internet search for the
family name ‘Alummoottil’ is performed,
the majority of results come up with Syrian Christians
with their last names ‘Alummoottil’.
Genealogically nobody has been able to establish the origins of these
Christian families in Kerala and it is not known
if these family’s are related to each other and originated from
one family. It may or may not be possible
that these families might have originated
from ancestors of the one original Alummoottil family .
It is also possible that as time rolled by many of them might
have migrated from one place to another
to distant and different places. It is a fact that
an overwhelming majority of Kerala Syrian Christians usually
trace their origins to ‘Brahmins’ who converted to Christianity
